I started this project when I became aware of the oil companies desire to frack just outside of the park. Chaco Canyon is a place of great mystery and beauty, the land around the park is vital to the experience so is the silence. Oil pumps and compressor stations are loud and ugly, they belong no where near this place. Fracking itself also causes tremors in the ground not to mention the little earthquakes that often result as a byproduct. This could spell disaster for the ruins. The irony of this is not lost on me. Remains of an ancient civilization being invaded by the very thing that if not altered, will likely cause the demise of our own civilization.
